I honestly wasn’t even looking to start something like this, God just dropped it in my lap! And I’m so glad He did.
Early one morning, back in December of 2020, I found myself wide awake at 3am after my daughter had woken up crying. After getting her settled back down, I couldn’t fall back to sleep, so I decided to pray and ask God what he wanted to do with Wonderfully Fashioned in 2021. God began to show me a collection of jewelry pieces that would be used to encourage others, to show them how He sees them. I envisioned women encouraging and empowering each other, speaking life and destiny over their friends and family members.
Unbeknownst to me, Find the Gold Project has actually been in the works since 2010. I was attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry when I first heard the phrase, “Find the Gold.” We used to do something called “treasure hunts” while I was at Bethel, In which we prayed and asked God to show us people who needed prayer or an encouraging word from Him. He would give us “clues”: like what they were wearing, what they looked like, where they would be,and even a problem they were facing. Theresa and Kevin Dedmon did a training on treasure hunts one day during class and Kevin said something I will never forget. “It’s really easy to find dirt when you are searching for gold. You have to dig to find the gold in someone!”
God has placed treasure inside every person on this earth. You don’t need someone to tell you how you messed up, or what you’re struggling with. You already know that! You need someone to encourage you— to remind you that we’re created to be AMAZING! You were knit together in your mother’s womb for a purpose by a God who loves you more than you can ever imagine. It is my prayer that you begin to see yourself through God’s eyes. He always has something good to say! He not only loves you, he LIKES you: you are his precious daughter, the one He gave His only Son Jesus for — who died on the cross to save you.
In a world where nothing seems to be going right, we need some light in the darkness. Maybe you’re feeling isolated, alone, like no one sees you. I’m here to tell you that God sees you and He knows you— and He delights in YOU!
